Teens Kills mother over video game

This is ridiculous! I can't believe kids these days. Here is just the latest article showing that these games are quickly getting out of control!

In a way FPS addicts are worse than MMO addicts. It's a more constant level of violence being pushed into their zombie brains.

I've known so many violent FPS fans.

(FPS = First Person Shooter games)

You know people blame video games for violence, violent actions etc, however there are a lot more external factors at play then just a video game. Not saying it is the case however it might be in some.

There are usually a lot more going on then just the games.

Not saying that this kind of behaviour is right, it is not. It is completely wrong, and there needs to be an examination into the individual. I dunno, I think people are quick to judge based on the fact there's gaming involved.
I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent.

Having nieces & nephews in my family who play "Halo," I know, from watching them, that the involvement in this game can be intense. However, having said that, there is more to this story than the media is reporting (perhaps blocked by the Judge, prosecutor, in this case?)

Having a father who is a minister, having a mother, and having a handgun locked-up, the Ohio teen got the key, unlocked the box with the gun, took the gun & shot his mother & father, and left with the game in-hand. This shows "intent" & "premedatation." In other words: there was something "more" going on within this house, & this family, than was reported in this news article by the news media. Male teens get angry, upset & intense. They don't have complete brains yet; when they feel something, they feel it compeltely & intensely. Emotions escalate, quickly. I believe the parents tried.

actually statistically speaking video games do not cause an increase in violence among those who play it. There is something else there that triggers whatever implosion happens. I'm not saying its the parents fault unless of course they were beating him every day but even then I would say leaving would have been a better option, or telling someone.

I think there is still a lot of research that needs to be done, because a lot of times reports such as these are bias when written.
