OK, being a gamer and having lack of confidence doesn't help. I'm in a bad shape. OK, am not fat, but seriously look like a pregnant woman with a 4-month old kid...for a man!!! So damn embarrassing, and I didn't mean to offend any ladies, but I look like one with the extra fat in my belly. I decided to exercise. Turns out my hands and legs are too weak to support my own weight when it comes to exercising. I'm trying to do push-ups, sit-ups and squats, the first 2 of which get near impossible after a few repetitions. And after I do the exercise, shoulders hurt for a couple of days.
Right now, I am doing 10 push-ups and 20 of the other 2 per day. I know, it's not much, but I am increasing the amount every week, since I can't do 100 repetitions of each per day as of right now. Problems also end up at the confidence level. Whenever someone is around, I feel like not doing anything, since every time someone is around, I feel like they'll judge and ridicule me even after knowing it doesn't matter. Meh, any tips for getting confidence to the point where what others think doesn't matter? Also, any tips for the exercising, considering hands and legs are too weak?
Help appreciated. Of course, I'm not looking to get a big set of muscles like those body-builders whose muscles are just for show and have no real strength most of the time. I'm looking to develop usable power in the muscles. Am not exercising just to be physically fit or get the fat off, am exercising to change the place of the fat from my belly and other areas to muscles, so am looking for something which will help me get power and not show. Of course, push-ups, sit-ups and squats work, but any tips appreciated.
Also, I do get intense pain in my knees when doing squats. That is not because of the weight, because I normally jump up and down stairs pretty easily. It's only when doing squats, that after a few repetitions, it feels like someone pushing a nail in there. I have to sit down for a couple of minutes, then resume, which doesn't make the pain any better to deal with. Is it because I sit on the PC all day with my legs in one position, or is it because of some other reasons. I know, I should go to the doctor, but I just thought of asking here first and searching on the internet. Thanks.
